Well, it's an action movie, so: WHO needs to understand the language, words are empty, actions speaks, so to speak... Decent cam!

Well, John, the reason that English is the "no.1" language is because British Colonial Rule and its de facto continuation by the American government.
If the Italians had taken their military along with their explorers, subjugated local populations, then passed laws demanding that the natives speak Italian, then, guess what? Voila! Italian is the "no.1 language".
That a language is more widely spoken is a function of political control and the distribution of the population that speaks it. Formerly, the "no.1 language" was French. Why? Colonialism and laws. Ask the Quebecois, they know.
A language's "no.1" status is never determined by its being "better" than another language. If that were the case, we would probably all be speaking Latin, whose value is evidenced by the
number of languages that have evolved from it.
Besides, soon we'll all be forced to speak Mandarin.

just had to chime in and point out the irony. Most western languages are derived from latin because the italians sent the military along with their explorers and force foreign peoples to pay fealty to rome and conduct business in latin.
